ABOUT THIS PIECE
A hand painted Tirupati Balaji door hanging strung with brass bells, for the main entrance. Balaji is the form of Vishnu kept for shubh aarambh, and the bells sound each time the door moves. Hang it facing outward.

What this is
A Tirupati Balaji door hanging is a hand painted plaque carrying Balaji's namam, flanked by the shankh and the chakra, strung with brass bells and made to hang on the main door of a house. The bells sound every time the door moves. It is one piece, sold on its own, and it is the same piece that goes into our two piece entrance set alongside the Narsingh Kirtimukh.

Why Balaji stands at the door
Balaji is the form of Vishnu that households turn to for an auspicious beginning. The entrance is where every beginning in a house actually happens: work, guests, money, news. That is why his namam belongs there and not only on the altar. The bells carry the second half of the idea. Sound keeps a doorway awake, and the tradition treats a silent threshold as an unattended one. Balaji at the main door, and a bell every time the door opens.

Where it comes from
The plaque is cast light, painted by hand and strung with brass bells, so the colour and the bell spacing shift a little from piece to piece. Before packing each one is checked on its own: bells sounded, knots pulled tight, the hanging loop checked with weight.

QUESTIONS
Questions, answered
Where should it hang?
On the main entrance, facing outward, with the bells left free to sound when the door moves.
Is this the same piece that is in the two piece set?
Yes. The same Balaji door hanging is sold on its own here and paired with the Narsingh Kirtimukh in the entrance set.
Does the paint chip?
Each piece is painted by hand, so colour and bell spacing vary a little between pieces. Wipe with a dry cloth rather than a wet one.
