HOW IT SITS
Worn at the neck
ABOUT THIS PIECE
A 54 bead Karungali mala in silver plated caps with a silver tone standing Hanuman Ji, gada resting on his shoulder. The full figure rather than the face, for bhakts who want the stance. Worn on Mangalvar and Shanivar and for Chalisa paath. Unisex.

What this is
This Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mala carries Hanuman Ji at full length: standing, gada resting on the shoulder, cast in silver tone metal at the end of 54 silver capped Karungali beads. Where our other Sankat Mochan mala shows only his face, this one shows the stance, and the gada is the first thing you notice about it.

Standing, with the mace
A face asks for devotion. A figure holding a weapon on its shoulder tells you something has already been settled. Hanuman Ji is Sankat Mochan because he moves when he is called, and the gada is what he moves with. In this casting it rests rather than swings, which is the posture of someone with nothing left to prove. Devotees wear this form through Tuesday and Saturday and through the Hanuman Chalisa, and 54 beads give the Chalisa or the naam a count to run along. Black Karungali under an armed protector is a strand and a pendant saying the same thing twice.

Where it comes from
The strand begins as a billet of South Indian ebony with its pale outer wood cut off and thrown away, leaving only the black heartwood that karungali is named for. What is left gets turned, polished without stain, and matched bead to bead. Silver plated caps go on one bead at a time before the strand is counted and knotted. The pendant is cast and plated rather than stone. It is lab certified by Plus Gems Testing Lab, and the report is behind the QR code on the packaging.

QUESTIONS
Questions, answered
What is the difference between this and the Hanuman Ji face mala?
This pendant is the whole figure, standing, with the gada on the shoulder. The other is only the crowned face with an Om beneath it. Pick by which image you want in your hand.
Why is the gada resting and not raised?
It is the posture of someone who has nothing left to prove. Hanuman Ji moves when he is called, and the gada is simply what he moves with.
Is it heavy to wear every day?
The strand is Karungali, which is dense but light on the neck at 8 mm, and the pendant is cast metal. It is made for daily wear, unisex.
