The short answer

Tradition places each stone in a different part of the home. Rose quartz goes in the south west bedroom corner. Clear quartz and the selenite plate go on the north east altar. Red jasper goes on the south side. Green jade goes on the north side, at the desk or till. Sodalite goes on the study table in the north or east. Start with one stone for the room you spend most time in.

How do you choose a stone for a room?

Start with the room, not the stone. Tradition places each stone in a different part of the home, and the placement is usually tied to a direction and a graha. Pick the room you spend the most time in, choose the stone that belongs there, and begin with one. You can add the others later.

Everything below is tradition and personal practice, offered as such. A stone on a shelf is a reminder and a habit, and none of these guides is a promise about what will happen in your life.

Bedroom: rose quartz

Rose quartz is read as Shukra's stone, linked with partnership, beauty and a settled home. Kept in the south west, the Nairutya kona, or on the bedside table on that side, it suits the bedroom. Friday is the day. Our full guide: rose quartz tumble and raw stone. The stone is the Rose Quartz Love Attraction Tumble.

Puja corner: clear quartz and selenite

The north east, the Ishan kona, is the altar corner. The Clear Quartz Tumble sits beside the diya and is wiped dry on Monday. The Natural Selenite Charging Plate lies flat on the altar so your other stones can rest on it overnight. Guides: clear quartz in the home and how to charge crystals on selenite.

South side of a room: red jasper

Red jasper is Mangal's stone, and vastu gives the south to Mangal. The Red Jasper Tumble goes on a shelf or table against the south wall, with Tuesday as its day. See red jasper: meaning and how it is kept.

Home office or shop: green jade

Green jade is Budh's stone, and the north is the working side of a home or shop. The Green Jade Tumble goes on the desk, in the cash drawer or on a shelf against the north wall. Wednesday is the day. The guide: green jade for prosperity.

Study table: sodalite

Sodalite is the small stone most bought for a student. The Natural Sodalite Tumble sits on the study table in the corner nearest the wall, with the table in the north or east and the student facing east or north. See sodalite on a study or work desk. If the east side of a room gets the first light, the Tiger Eye Tumble is the stone tradition places there.

How do you combine several stones?

Combine by room, not by pile. One stone per room is enough to begin with. In a bedroom, rose quartz on the bedside table. In the altar corner, clear quartz and the selenite plate. On the study table, sodalite. On the south shelf, red jasper. At the desk or till, green jade. When each stone has its own place, it is easier to remember its day and to wipe it when you dust.

Avoid keeping all the tumbles in one bowl on a single table. They scratch each other, the themes blur, and the whole idea of a stone with its own corner is lost. A small cloth pouch for each stone, or a separate dish, keeps things tidy.

If you want to carry a stone, pick the one that matches the part of your day that matters most, and return it to its corner at night.

What if you are unsure where to start?

Pick clear quartz. It has no strong theme to get wrong, it sits beside every other stone, and it belongs in the altar corner most homes already have. Add a coloured stone later for the room that matters to you. For cleansing, a dry cloth, dhoop smoke or a night on the selenite plate are the usual gentle choices: how often should I cleanse.

All of these tumbles are natural and lab-tested, with the report behind the QR code in the box.

As tradition records it
